Ongoing Figure Drawing Sessions
For adults:ongoing figure-drawing sessions are held twice weekly at Artlink. Sessions are intended for professional and amateur artists, and university students. Held Monday & Thursday evenings from 6:30-9:30 p.m., a minimal charge of $3 per hour covers the cost of the model. Call Suzanne for more information, 260.424.7195

Gallery Walk-through Series
Lectures will be held at 6pm on most opening reception evenings.
Artists and curators will present a walk through the exhibitions beginning at 6pm on most opening reception nights. Please call the gallery for more details. Funds from the Flora Dale Krouse Foundation and Edward D and Ione Auer Foundation have made the lecture series possible.

Art & Yoga
Artlink invites you to take a relaxing yoga class while your kids are busy creating art! It’s all part of Art & Yoga, a new educational program that will begin running at Artlink in November and December. In Kids’ Art Exploration, children in grades K-8 will make art with Erin Patton, a Fort Wayne art teacher, while their parents can relax in an All-Levels Yoga Class run by Vicki Salzbrun in collaboration with Lotus Yoga, Wellness and Gallery.
The program will run twice monthly. All sessions will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays: November 16, 30 and December 14, 28, 2011. The program will continue into January, February and March 2012 as well.
KIDS’ ART EXPLORATION with Erin Patton: Students will explore various art materials and techniques each session and will be encouraged to explore and experiment with guidance from the art teacher.
ALL-LEVELS ADULT YOGA with Vicki Salzbrun: Take an hour from your busy week to calm yourself with the practice of Yoga.
Complete the registration form below, selecting which sessions you would like to attend and the number of children or adults attending. Parents need not attend with children. There is a 10% discount on second child.

Holiday Card Making Workshop Spend an evening at Artlink with Sue Sells making holiday cards for your friends and family! Sue will be demonstrating 4 different styles of embellished cards. Participants will be able to make 8 cards in the different styles to take home with them. Sue will provide everything you need to create these fun and festive dazzling holiday cards for the evening, such as stamps, glitter glues, and special papers.

REGISTRATION FORM FOR HOLIDAY VACATION WORKSHOPS
Recycled Mixed Media Picture Frame - Tuesday, December 27, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Join Artlink with Art Farm’s Lisa Vetter from Spencerville and learn how to make a very personalized and artsy picture frame from recycled materials. Participants will use items normally considered trash, to create functional, funky and fun picture frames. Appropriate for ages 8 through 108, fun for the whole family! Come on out for an afternoon of fun!

Storyboarding – Tuesday, December 27, 1-4 p.m.
Artist and teacher Jeremy McFarren will teach a workshop based on storytelling and pacing in comic book and cartooning forms. He will illustrate how to drive a narrative with style and substance and show how to avoid the pitfalls of bad storytelling. Students should have basic drawing skills and a desire to learn more about the visual art of telling a story. Jeremy has a BA from the University of Saint Francis and is a certified teacher at Carroll High School where he teaches cartooning and design. Appropriate for young adults grades 7 – 12.

Painting with Terry Ratliff - Wednesday, December 28, 2 – 5 p.m.
Come spend an afternoon with the fantastic painter, Terry Ratliff. Terry will be your guide while you paint your own still life, just like him! Students will have the opportunity to paint alongside the artist and learn a few tricks of the trade. You do not need to be a trained artist to participate. A creative spirit possessing the desire to learn is the only requirement. Terry has a BA from Franklin College and travels the country exhibiting and selling his work. Appropriate ages for this workshop are 12 years to adult. Beverages will be served.

Make Stuff with Duct Tape - Wednesday, December 28, 2 – 4 p.m.
Join Artlink and FWCS art teacher, Amy Clark, and learn how to make cool stuff out of duct tape! Amy will teach you how to make a purse or wallet out of the all-purpose duct tape that you can show off and use every day. Come stick it up with other fans of duct tape. Appropriate for children 6th grade through adults. Come on out for an afternoon of fun!

Sharpie Art on Found Objects - Thursday, December 29, 2 – 4 p.m.
Join Artlink with FWCS art teacher, Amy Clark, and learn how to elaborate found objects with Sharpie markers! Check out the official blog of the Sharpie Marker at www.blog.sharpie.com to see examples of all kinds of cool things you can do. Amy will demonstrate and direct students as they decorate their objects with Sharpies to their own fancy. Appropriate for children 6th grade through adults. Come on out for an afternoon of fun!

Stencil Art - Thursday, December 29, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Join Artlink and creative stencil artist Jason Rowland to learn how to cut and spray paint your own stencil. This exciting technique is a great way to add graphic style to your art. Check out Jason’s artwork at www.imafraidofbeetles.com. This workshop is appropriate for 6th grade students through adults. Come on out for an afternoon of fun!

Beginner’s Knitting - Friday, December 30, 1 – 3 p.m.
Join Artlink with others in learning the basic knit stitch with Clare Tarr! Come and learn the basics of knitting and make your own scarf to keep warm for winter. A handmade scarf would be a great gift, too! Learning this handy skill will give you the ability to keep yourself and your family warm for years to come. Come on out for an afternoon of fun!

Wire Trees - Friday, December 30, 2011, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Children 1st grade through 8th grade can participate in this Wire Trees workshop (kids grades 1 through 5 must be accompanied by an adult). Heather Miller will guide children in making their own individual wire tree out of aluminum wire and other materials. Children will twist and pull materials to create gnarled and unique topiaries. Trees can reach 1 foot tall! Heather has taught children for 15 years and currently teaches at Avilla’s Montessori school. See her website www.creativeenergystudio.com.
