Basic Photoshop for the Non-Photographer

Cara Lee Wade will guide participants through an overview of the tools and functions of Photoshop including color correction, adjustments, cropping, resizing and file formats. Participants will explore and exercise these skill sets on photographs and photographs of artwork.

Photoshop Methods and Techniques for Designing
Sunday, February 26, 2-4 p.m.
Learn Photoshop methods and techniques from Shaun Malinowski. Learn photo manipulation, clipping techniques, image clean up, photo-enhancing methods, adding backgrounds, proper file set up, and how to use smart objects. Participants should have a working knowledge of Photoshop.

Introduction to Glaze Chemistry
Sunday, March 25, 1 – 3 p.m.
Joe Van Zandt will give an introduction to glaze chemistry for ceramics. He will discuss the basics of glazes and how they work on a molecular level. The topic of converting glazes from batch to molecular formal and back in order to adjust recipes will be discussed. All attendees will recieve a notebook designed by Joe as an introduction to this topic.

Clay Tile Project
Thursday, March 8, 5:30-8 p.m. & Thursday, March 15, 6 – 8:30 p.m., Pick up Friday, March 30.
Use a variety of carving tools, stamps, and found objects to create textural tiles with Kristy Jo Beber. Starting with soft clay slabs, participants will impress or carve their design. Come back the second night to add color with underglaze. Tiles will be fired and ready for pick up a week later.

Logo Creation in Illustrator
Saturday, March 17, 2-4 p.m.
Learn to create a logo in Illustrator with Shaun Malinowski. Attendees will create a vectorized logo from a hand-drawn sketch. Go through steps to create a clean sketch with tight, smooth vectors. Various techniques such as pen tool, shapes and pathfinder will be covered. Attendees need to have a working knowledge of Illustrator and bring their laptop with Illustrator already installed.

Kids’ Art Exploration with Erin Patton
Wednesday, February 22 and Wednesday, March 7
6-7 p.m.
In Kids’ Art Exploration, children in grades K-8 will make art with Erin Patton, a Fort Wayne art teacher. This program takes place every two weeks. Children may work on the designated project for that evening or begin their own explorative project with guidance from Mrs. Patton. This class is offered every two weeks and will continue into February. Please sign up 2 days in advance or call first.
All-Levels Yoga with Vicki Salzbrun

Artlink invites you to take a relaxing yoga class to help ease the holiday tension! This All-Levels Yoga will be led by Vicki Salzbrun from Lotus Yoga Wellness Gallery at Artlink. This class is offered every two weeks and will continue into February. Please sign up 2 days in advance or call first.
Ongoing Figure Drawing Sessions
For adults:ongoing figure-drawing sessions are held twice weekly at Artlink. Sessions are intended for professional and amateur artists, and university students. Gallery Walk-through Series
Lectures will be held at 6pm on most opening reception evenings.
Artists and curators will present a walk through the exhibitions beginning at 6pm on most opening reception nights. Please call the gallery for more details. Funds from the Flora Dale Krouse Foundation and Edward D and Ione Auer Foundation have made the lecture series possible.
