Michael Poorman has been drawing and painting since a small child including collaborative cartoons while in high school. As a senior in high school he won the Higgins International Scholastic Award and was accepted into the Fort Wayne Art School. He then studied at the John Herron Art School in Indianapolis before moving to San Francisco, continuing studies and exhibiting at local galleries. '‘Not easily discernible, Poorman’s message of universalism, unity and a kind of mystic clarity reveals itself only after the viewer steeps himself in the rich hues and subtle shades of his expressionist ink and oil pastel pieces.’' Interview – David Tanner in WhatzUp January 3, 2002. Poorman is represented by Castle Gallery in Fort Wayne, IN. See more of his work on their website.
