  • Crestwoods Frame Shop & Gallery 314 N. Main Street Roanoke, IN (map)

Artlink’s Education Series seeks to empower emerging artists in Northeast Indiana to build sustainable creative careers through an innovative and affordable monthly series of speakers and workshops. This series will cover important issues for artists including health and wellness, business and marketing, presentation and portfolio development. Through this series, we hope to provide artists with the skills and resources they need to succeed in their creative endeavors.

In April, Crestwoods Frame Shop & Gallery will cover the basics of how to frame and present your artwork. Ann Shive of Crestwoods will discuss best practices for framing your work. Ann will give a tour of Crestwoods "Wall of Frames", workshop and equipment, and talk about the difference of working with artists versus customers or designers. The presentation will also cover museum mounting versus other types of mounting, explain the difference between conservation and rag mat boards, and the difference between regular, conservation, museum and non-glare glass. The presentation will conclude with a Q&A.
