The goal of this project is to bring more art to downtown Fort Wayne. Artlink hired three artists: Adam Garland, Marie Gardeski, and Nate Utesch, who received a stipends to design the crosswalk murals that were installed on the downtown Fort Wayne arts campus in 2016. The expectation of the murals is to inspire more crosswalk mural projects throughout the city. Crosswalk murals will lend vibrancy to downtown Fort Wayne, while also increasing visibility for pedestrians. Stop by the Arts Campus to see them!
In 2015, Artlink partnered with the City of Fort Wayne to launch the Riverfront Art Bench project. For this project, wooden bus stop benches were transformed into functional, beautiful works of public art and installed along the riverfront in downtown Fort Wayne.
The City of Fort Wayne recognizes the importance of maintaining momentum for riverfront development and the necessity for art to play an integral role. This project provides the community with more access to public art.

Artlink hosts nine opening receptions each year. At each opening reception, three artists participating in the exhibit speak about their work, giving the public a chance to hear directly from them about their work. Artists are given the opportunity to publicly articulate how their work was made, concepts and ideas, and how it relates to the exhibition. Artlink hosts 27 exhibits each year with nine opening receptions.
Artlink partners with the Downtown Improvement District’s Lunch on the Plaza to bring Artists on the Plaza to the public. Artists on the Plaza provides local artists the opportunity to showcase their talents and network with the community. Through artist activities such as live painting and other art forms, members of the Fort Wayne community will be exposed to a live-art experience, furthering the community involvement and appreciation for the arts.
