About the Instructor
Dani Tippmann is a Myaamia (Miami) artist and citizen of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma. Born and raised in northeast Indiana, she currently works in the tribe’s Fort Wayne office as their Community Food Program Director. Grounded in Myaamia cultural traditions and lifeways, her art promotes the relationships that can be formed between people and the plants that surround them.

Dani has been teaching basket workshops for over 15 years, most recently this past fall at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art where she has been a four-time artist in residence. Through these workshops, she hopes to not only educate on Myaamia culture but also raise awareness of the harms of invasive species.
